A CMS for a global edutainment destination
KidZania is an edutainment destination with locations in countries around the world. We helped them build a content mamangement system that would let them publish localized information about each of their locations.
We created a localized content management system that let our client publish information about each of KidZania’s worldwide franchise locations.
The content management system had to support fairly complex use-cases. It needed to support both left-to-right and right-to-left text rendering, and localized content for each franchise in however many languages each franchise needs. This system serves an important business function for our client, and helps standardize the way each franchise location presents themselves online.
For this project, our client knew exactly what they wanted the finished product to look like. We supplied the back-end skills that would connect to and govern the product. We got there through a simple process:
We built the content management system based on our client's requirements for each franchise location (localized languages, right-to-left or left-to-right rendering, etc).
Refinement and Iteration
After a few rounds of testing and refining the CMS, we had a platform that supported content for each location.
One of the more compelling aspects of this project was that the platform we built was for international consumption. In addition to having to support a number of languages, we learned a lot about how to optimize a site for slower internet connections in other countries.
